Technology Assessment

Independent assessment of digital apprenticeships

We provide independent end-point assessment for Software Developer, DevOps Engineer, and Data Analyst apprenticeships on behalf of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and the Academy for Project Management. Our assessments cover the full breadth of modern software development practice, from agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines to data analysis and test-driven development, with a growing focus on how teams are beginning to integrate artificial intelligence into their workflows.

Book Publishing

Technical books on creative software

CR4 Consulting publishes technical books through Apple Books, with a focus on creative tools and workflows. Our founder has authored multiple technology titles published in Germany and has translated over a dozen books on programming and internet technologies. We publish 1–2 new titles per year.

Video & Content

Professional video production and content creation

We produce professional video content for LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms. Our work spans production, editing (Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro), and content strategy. We use engagement and performance analytics to inform our editorial decisions and measure the reach of our content across platforms.

IT Consultancy

Technology advisory for small businesses

Practical advice on video and audio production setup, web development, server infrastructure, and digital workflows. From choosing the right equipment to building custom web applications and integrating third-party APIs, we help small businesses make sound technology decisions.

CR4 Consulting produces and publishes professional video content on LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms. Our content covers technology, creative tools, and the intersection of software and storytelling.

We take a data-driven approach to content strategy, using platform analytics to track engagement, understand our audience, and make informed decisions about what to produce next. Performance data from our published content directly informs both our video production programme and our book publishing schedule.

About

Wolfgang Mittelmaier — Founder

Wolfgang Mittelmaier is a London-based technology consultant, author, and content creator. Originally from Germany, he holds an MA in Comparative Literature from the University of Munich, with English Literature and Drama as minor subjects.

His career spans technology and the arts. In the mid-1990s he worked for CompuServe, the pioneering online service, in customer service, quality assurance, and public relations. He went on to direct and produce theatre at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London. In parallel, he built web applications and custom booking systems for small businesses, and authored three technology books published in Germany.

Since 2020, Wolfgang has worked as an independent end-point assessor for digital apprenticeships with BCS and the Academy for Project Management, assessing apprentices in software development, DevOps, and data analytics. He is now expanding CR4 Consulting's publishing and video production activities, with his first English-language book due in May 2026.
